Notifications

The synaptiks service emits notifications every time, the touchpad is switched on or off, or in case of errors. By default all notifications except error notifications are disabled, because most users will find them highly annoying. To change the notification configuration, open the Touchpad module in System Settings and move to the Notifications page.

Screenshot of the notification configuration page

This page configures notifications for three kinds of events:

Keyboard activity

This page configures notifications, that are caused by keyboard activity (see the section called “Keyboard activity”).

Caution

This is provided for the sake of completeness, but it is absolutely not recommended to enable any of the Keyboard activity notifications. If you are using the Keyboard activity feature, the touchpad will be switched on and off very often, and you will be flooded with notifications.

Mouse devices

This page configures notifications, that are caused by plugging and unplugging mouses (see the section called “Mouses”).

Everything else

This page configures all other notifications. This includes notifications, which are caused by manually switching the touchpad on or off.
